Hey! You're back! Whoo Hoo!

I like WordPerfect, but I haven't used it in a long time; it's not on my computers at work, and my home computer has Word for Mac.

Any questions about MS Word, just ask, and maybe I can help.

Yikes, girl, you're life ain't been easy since I saw you last!

I don't know what else to say--it's 1:40 in the morning, after all, and I'm a little loopy for lack of sleep--but my goodness!

I'm glad you're getting better, and I hope you get to tell me good things about your life the next time we meet. But even if you can't, 'cause life just stinks, well, I wish you good things anyway.

What's the latest with your writing?

There is nothing to say that wouldn't sound pat or cliche. Hope you weathered this tragic anniversary with people who love you.

Yeah, he'd have been safer with two feet (do eggs have feet?) firmly planted on solid ground; but, like you said, he'd have missed the view.

And, since we're on the subject of things that aren't all they're cracked up to be, safety can be a prison. It's nice and comfortable, it's predictable, but a person can't go anywhere. Can't see or experience anything.

Then again, safe places let us recover from our wounds and grow strong again -- but we're rarely meant to stay there.

To quote Bilbo Baggins, "'It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door,'he used to say. 'You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to.'"

Even if it's dangerous, I prefer the freedom to pursue the adventure.

Love the poem!

My first reaction was "Amen, sistah" and then "Yeah! What you said!" (I guess both reactions are essentially the same.)

I like surprises, too -- of the good variety, of course.

Hey! Did any of those pictures turn out? Or did the sun interfere with your photography?

The news of the eclipse was on the vague periphery of my consciousness, but I couldn't have told you when and on which day is was supposed to occur. I'm glad you saw it.

There are times to share such moments, but also times when you hug them to yourself like secret treasures.

Ya know, I'm not always sure why I write. I think it's who I am.

When I can't articulate something in conversation, I write about it. I can be as messy as I need to be in an effort to get my thoughts on paper; if someone else needs to read them, they can be cleaned up and prettied and made presentable for company. Not always possible "on the fly," as the saying goes.

As for fiction, well, maybe writers write because we're all slightly off the level. After all, aren't geniuses just this side of crazy?
